Fluidelastic stability criterion analysis of tube bundles with energy equation
In this paper fluidelastic instability of tube bundles has been analyzed with both continuity and energy equations according to the tube-in channel model developed by Lever and Weaver, from which the relationship between reduced flow velocity and mass- damping parameter has been derived and the stability chart plotted. In addition, the static instability has been compared with the dynamic instability. The connection between fluid force and change of energy in the flow has been explained in terms of the energy equation. The advantage of the method used herein lies in offering the convenience in analyzing of fluid force in the experiment and influence of other factors in the flow.
