Manufacturing of nozzles combined with reinforcement pad
The nozzles combined with reinforcement are generally used in high temperature container. The nozzle is often joined to the shell by using welding neck. However, the joint with a 3D face is impossible to be formed by the conventional machine tools. In the present paper, the rapid prototype (RP) manufacturing technology was used to fabricate the nozzles combined with reinforcement pad. In this technology, different sub-steps were involved, such as development of mathematical model, obtaining the relationship between the parameters, compilation of NC program, implementation of the intelligent controller of the machine.
