Facile synthesis of beaded ceria nanoparticles along carbon nanotubes
Ordering assemblies of beaded ceria nanoparticles along CNTs have been synthesized by a facile solvothermal method. The products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM),and X-ray diffraction (XRD). It is founded that these beaded ceria particles with the diameter of 80-120nm, which are distributed along the axis of CNTs, have a face-centered cubic polycrystalline structure. Finally, a possible formation mechanism has been suggested to explain the formation of beaded ceria nanoparticles along CNTs.
