Parallel Arrays of SWCNTs Fabricated by Pulse Gas Blowing Alignment Method
Parallel alignment of SWCNTs is realized by pulse gas blowing alignment method with substrate downward tilt. A micro droplet of well-dispersed SWCNTs suspension is pipetted onto the substrate which is tilted downward 150, then pulse gas with pressure 0.15Mpa is blown directly to the droplet with gas pipe 200 tilt for only 1-2 seconds. The scan results of atomic force microscope (AFM) show that the aligning direction of SWCNTs is well consistent with the blowing direction of pulse gas, and the alignment density of SWCNTs exceeds 106/cm2. Interestingly, this method also shows obvious straightening effectespecially to slim SWCNT. The method provides a possible way to fabricate nanoelectronic device arrays, such as sensor arrays and etc.
