PROPERTIES EVALUATIONS OF NANOMETER POLYSILICON MATERIAL AND ITS EFFECT ON WAX DISSOLUTION IN DIESEL

The pore throats in low permeability reservoirs are very narrow and can be damaged easily. This results in the higher injection pressure and lower production rate. The nanometer polysilicon material (NMPM) has been used to decrease the injection pressure and achieved good results in some oil fields. In order to study the function of NMPM in decreasing the injection pressure for low permeability reservoirs, the microstructure of NMPM was observed under transmission electron microscope (TEM). On the basis of this, the effect of NMPM on the viscosity of diesel and the dissolution of wax in diesel was studied experimentally. Experiments show that the size of NMPM is in the range of nanometer, it is water repellent. The viscosity of diesel with NMPM addition is higher than that of diesel, the higher the NMPM concentration, the higher the viscosity. The dissolution of wax in diesel increases greatly with NMPM addition, the dissolution rate is from 2.5 to 6.0. The dissolution of wax in diesel increases with the concentration of NMPM in diesel and with the increase of temperature. It is proved that the addition of NMPM into the diesel can remove the wax deposition near the wellbore more easily and this maybe one of the main mechanisms for injection pressure decreasing in low permeability reservoirs.
