Synthesis of CuSi/SiOx (x<2) nanocables etc.,nanostructure by thermal evaporation
The CuSi compound/ silica composite nanostructures with different morphologies are fabricated by heating Cu particles after thermal evaporation of Si and SiO2 mixture. SEM (scanning electron microscope), TEM (transmission electron microscope) with EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectrometer), XRD (X-ray diffraction) analyses show that four kinds of nanostructures: the nanocables of CuSi core and amorphous SiOx shell, amorphous SiOx nanowires embedded with CuSi nanoparticles or with amorphous SiOx nanowires branches, and SiOx nanotubes or nanowires are present in the products. The growth of the above nanostructures is suggested to be attributed to the vapor-liquid-sold (VLS).
