Synthesis and Performance of Controllable Morphology Nano-SrFe12O19 with Citric Acid Method

Using citric acid method synthesizes the controllable morphology SrFe12O19 nano-particles combining the experiment process, the formation of sol and gel and the function of citric acid in this process were theories analyzed. Then, the best controllable craft condition of the formation of sol and gel was found. By the citric acid method, a little organic template agent (melting stearic acid, EDTA, and ethanedioic acid) is addict as dispersant in the process of addicting the citric acid. It can form hydrogen band with the excess hydroxyl of citric acid complex, and can function as the template for the connection with precursor, which make Fe and Sr arrange as certain rule in certain arrangement. Acicular, clavate and spindle nano-SrFe12O19 are prepared, the morphology of which has enormous change as for the former spherical nano-SrFe12O19 with no organic template agent appended. Calcinated nano-SrFe12O19 is characterized through the testing method such as XRD﹑IR and TEM and so on. Magnetic performance is inspected through VSM. Magnetic performance of different morphology is compared. The influence mechanism of organic template agent to the morphology of nano-SrFe12O19 is also preliminarily studied in this paper.
