Study on structure and magnetization of the spinel ferrites
Polycrystalline powders NiFe2O4,ZnFe2O4 and Ni0.64Zn0.36Fe2O4 were prepared by chemical coprecipitation method. The magnetic properties of the powders were measured at room temperature. Usually, the single positive spinel ferrite ZnFe2O4 exhibites antiferromagnetism. However, in the NiZn complex ferrite, ZnFe2O4 shows ferrimagnetic. The magnetic properties of the spinel ferrites are strongly dependent on distribution and magnetization of the cations. Experiment value of per molecular magnetic moment of NiFe2O4 and Ni0.64Zn0.36Fe2O4 is lower than that of theoretic value, because the surface structure defects result in the magnetic spin glass structure. After the magnetization of the powder specimens arrives at a point, it tardily increase with increasing the applied field and that the magnetization of specimens is entirely saturated is helluve.
