The preparation and application of mix-crystal mesoporous nano-TiO2 by auto-assembly on composite templates

Nanometric mix-crystal mesoporous TiO2 was prepared by normal pressure liquid-phase and hydrothermal processes on different composite surfactant templates (CTAB-SDBS, CTAB-PEG6000 PEG6000-SDBS), using TiCl4 and NH3·H2O as raw materials. This method utilized the positional hindrance effect of the long chain of templates in space. XRD analysis results indicated, the samples were mix-crystal TiO2 with rutile phase and anatase phase. TEM results indicated that the particles were basically spherical, and well dispersed. The crystallites size was in the range of 10-15 nm. The N2 adsorption々desorption isotherms of the synthesized materials exhibited typical Langmuire IV pattern, and the pore structure among particles were mesoporous texture lacking of long-range order with the average pore diameters about 11 nm. The photocatalytical experiments showed that the cyanide in industrial wastewaters and organic acid red 3R dye were degraded effectively under 40W daylight lamp, and indicated that the sample using CTAB-SDBS as a composite surfactant template had the better function than others. And some effect of reaction factors has been investigated to confirm the optimal condition.
