Photocatalytic degradation of pesticide(O,O-Diethyl O-(3,5,6 Trichloro-2-Pyridyl)Phosphorothioate) using mix-crystal TiO2 emulsion
Pesticide, generally used in agricultures and fruits, could be photocatalytically degradated using TiO2 irradiated by sunlight. The experiments showed that TiO2 and sunlight had a small effect when they were used on their own, the photocatability of mix-crystal TiO2 emulsion was stronger than that of pure anatase TiO2 emulsion and Korea TiO2 emulsion (made in Korea E﹠B company). The plot ln(C0/C) to irradiation time was linear, suggesting first order reaction (K=0.01435min-1). The influence of many parameters such as Initial pH, catalyst loading, initial pesticide concentration were also discussed.
