Building Titanium Dioxide Tubes Using the Sol-Gel Coating Electrospun Polymer Fibers Technique
In this paper, poly butyleness succinate (PBS) fibers, which are not dissolve in the ethanol and with low calcining temperature, were used as templates to fabricate hollow fibers of titanium dioxide (TiO2). Using the sol-gel coating technique, electrospun poly butylenes succinate (PBS) fibers are filled with titanium dioxide, by which we prepared TiO2-PBS coaxial nanofibers. titanium dioxide nanotubes were obtained via calcining TiO2-PBS coaxial nanofibers. The titanium dioxide nanotubes were characterized by TG, SEM, TEM and XRD, respectively. The results show that titanium dioxide nanotubes with a diameter of 50-100nm were successfully obtained, after calcinating TiO2-PBS coaxial nanofibers at 450 , and ℃ titanium dioxide nanotubes were pure anatase.
