Study of light-scattering material PMMA/Nano-PS polymerizing in artificial environment
This paper study the radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate adding little amount of heated mixture of St. in natural environment and artificial environment respectively. The experiment results showed that the sample preparation, in artificial environment could be caused light transmittance different along height of sample and the sample could be divided into some layer from property of scattering light. Molecular weight test revealed the difference every layer. Then the microcosmic configuration and appearance was observed by SEM. From the experiment results of GPC and SEM, the differences were be observed: the material of low molecular weight is more in which layer the light permeation ratio is larger than in which layer the light permeation ratio is less. This shows the electric field has effect in the process that styrene and methyl methacrylate copolymerize, especially in velocity of polymerization and structure of the polymer chain. The main reason of layering is the affect of electric field.
