A New Method of Synthesizing Polymeric Schiff Base Nanorods

Polymeric Schiff base nanorods were successfully synthesized by interfacial polymerization and characterized by FT-IR and TEM. The TEM results showed that the catalysts, ammonia and sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide, remarkably affected the morphology of PSB and NH4 + was necessary for obtaining uniform PSB nanorods. The monomer concentration affected the diameter of the obtained nanorods, ranging from 40 to 200 nm when it was in the range of 0.01 ~ 0.05 M.
