Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles and Nanorod by Reducing Silver Nitrate with Ascorbic Acid at Room Temperature

Sliver nanoparticles and nanorod were synthesized by reducing silver nitrate with ascorbic acid in aqueous solution at room temperature. The products were characterized by Energy dispersive X-rays analysis (EDXA), UV-vis absorption spectra (UV), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). EDXA Pattern elucidated that the as-prepared materials was silver. UV-vis absorption spectra indicated the presence of silver nanoparticles and nanorod in the product. Subsequently, The morphology of silver nanoparticles and nanorod were also characterized in the TEM images.
