Study On The Application of Oxide Combination Nanoparticles in Lubricating Oils

The morphology and size of CeO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles were examined by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The suitable surfactants such as Tween-20,Tween-60,Span-20 and Sodium sodecylbenzenesulfonate were selected and lubricating oils with CeO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles were prepared. The friction and wear tests were carried out in four-ball tribotester of MRS-1J. The research results show that the optimal additive proportion of nanoparticles is: WCeO2%:WTiO2%=1:3,and the total content is 0.6%,and this lubricating oil has optimal properties of friction-reducing and anti-wear. The CeO2 nanoparticles could restrain the reunification of TiO2 nanoparticles and reduce the dosage of TiO2 nanoparticles.
