Electrodeposition of Ni-W-P Nanowire Array and its Electrocatalytic Activity for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction
Ni-W-P alloy nanowires array was fabricated in the nanochannels of aluminum anodic oxide membrane (AAO) by electrodeposition. Scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) was used to characterize the morphology of Ni-W-P nanowires array. These nanowires had uniform diameters of about 100nm, accorded with diameter of holes, and the length was about 20μm. Cathodic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to study the electrocatalytic activity of electrodeposited Ni-W-P alloy for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The results clearly demonstrate that, Ni-W-P alloy nanowires array electrodes exhibit the highest elcetrocatalytic activity for HER and the overpotential is lowered by 250 mV at 10mA·cm-2 compared with as-electroplated Ni-W-P alloy.
