Synthesis, characterization and mechanic studies of metal tartaric complex nanorods by solid-state chemical reaction
Metal tartaric complex nanorods were synthesized in only one step by solid-state chemical reaction of Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O, Co(CH3COO)2·4H2O, Ni(CH3COO)2·3H2O, Mn(CH3COO)2·H2O and tartaric acid at room temperature in the presence of a nonionic surfactant polyethylene glycol (PEG300). The composition and morphology of samples were characterized by XRD, IR, elemental analysis, TG and TEM. Results show that metal tartaric complex nanorods can be obtained in only one step by solid-state chemical reaction. The surfactant play a key role in the process of rod-formation and it can act as a soft-template and induce the nanoscystalline of solid product to grow in orient direction into nanorods.
