Controlled Preparation, Characterization and Photocatalystic Performance of Titanium-based Nanocrystal/Nanobelt In Water Treatment

A series of titanium-based nanoproducts were prepared using layered titanate as raw material by one-step hydrothermal crystallization method under soft chemical conditions. In this paper, the influence of hydrothermal temperatures, durations and acidity was investigated comprehensively, and the morphology, crystal phase and composition of the hydrothermal products were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) measurements. The results revealed that the temperature and pH gave remarkable and subtle effect over crystal phase and morphology. The photocatalytic activity was studied by the degradation of hardly-degradable dye X-3B in water solution. The product using nitric acid as solvent at 120 ℃ for two days exhibited the best photocatalytic activity, and it was the a congeries consisting of anatase and rutile TiO2 mixing H-titanate.
