Structure and Performance of PDMS/SiO2 Hybrid Materials
A series of PDMS/SiO2 hybrid material were synthesized via Sol-Gel process, using PDMS as organic content and TEOS as precursor of inorganic content. Hardness, dynamic mechanic performance and microtexture of the hybrid materials were measured. The results indicated that the hardness, the glass transition temperature and the storage modulus all increase, and the damping factors decrease with increasing inorganic content of the hybrid materials. The samples were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis (XPS). The results showed there were chemical bond between organic content and inorganic content.
