Investigation on Thermal Conductivity of Al2O3 Nanofluids
Al2O3 nanofluids were prepared by homogenously dispersing nanoscale Al2O3 powders, with 1%, 2%, 3% and 4% volume concentration, into ethanol, ethylene glycol and glycerine respectively. The thermal conductivities of as-prepared nanofluids were determined with self-made measuring cell. The results indicated that the increment of thermal conductivities ?λ of all nanofluids increased with Al2O3 concentration increasing. Al2O3/ethylene glycol nanofluid presented the highest △λ, 31.56% under 4% concentration. With temperature ascending, the △λ of Al2O3/ethanol nanofluid showed positive dependence. While the △λ of Al2O3/ethylene glycol and Al2O3/glycerine nanofluids kept little variation.
