Study on the Modified-Nanoporous Sepiolite
Ti-pillared sepiolite and acid modified nanoporous sepiolite were prepared. Many analyzing techniques including BET, XRD, TG-DTG and IR were applied to research the structure and properties of nanoporous sepiolite after modification. The results suggested that acid modification increased the surface area and the total pore volume. And the pore distribution was ameliorated, the thermal stability and the surface acid amount were increased after Ti-pillared. The improvement of properties makes Ti-pillared sepiolite be more suitable for the application of support for the oxidation of CO. The comparison of catalytic activity for different modification methods indicated that both the pore distribution and the pore property are important for the application of nanoporous sepiolite.
