Microemulsion of Sodium dodecyl sulfate /n-pentanol /Xylene /H2O and Preparation of Nano-Ni

The structural parameters of microemulsion and preparation of nano-nickel by microemulsion were studied. The effects of H2O amount and dispersion phase on the radius of inner water droplet, and the effects of technique to prepare nano-Ni particle on the particle size were investigated for the microemulsion of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) / n- pentanol / Xylene / H2O. The samples of nano-Ni were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscop (TEM) , corresponding selected area electron diffraction (SAED). It was shown that there were the linear relationships between the radius of inner water droplet and H2O amount of the system. The radius of the dispersion phase and inner water droplet, the average aggregation number of surfactant in a dispersion phase increased with the rising of H2O amount. Ni2+ was reduced completely if 1.4 mol·L-1 KBH4 was used as reductive agent and n(KBH4) : n(NiSO4) was 3 : 1 by microemulsion method. From 60 to 80 ℃,smaller the diameter of Nano-Ni particle, the high the temperature. The nano-Ni particle which covered by surfactant was about 20 nm in diameter at 80 ℃ Nano-Ni presented monocrystalline after calcination at 700 to remove ℃ the surfactant coved.
