A scheme of Synthetically Compensating Reactive Power and Harmonics in the distribution grid the equipments.
With the development of power electronic technology and the wide use of power electronic equipments, the reactive power & harmonics problem in power grid is becoming more and more serious. In order to reduce the effect by reactive power & harmonics and enhance the stability in power system. This paper proposed a topology with TCR+FC+APF which combined two matured structure together. The TCR acts as a classic reactive power compensator for power factor correction. The small rating active filter is used to improve filtering characteristics of the passive filter and suppress possible resonance between the system impedance and the passive filter. Finally, this equipment was successful applied in LieShan power substation. With the testing data, it can be verified that the TCR+FC+APF can solve the reactive power & harmonics issues found in those power substations efficiently.
