An Isomerous Power Quality Monitoring Devices Integration Method Based on IEC 61850 and OPC

Current integrative methods for isomerous power quality monitoring field devices could not be seamless integration. This paper combines IEC 61850 communications standard and the OLE for Process Control (OPC), proposes a new integration method. Firstly, data from legacy devices is accessed by use of legacy protocols, then mapping for the private frame format to IEC 61850 object and OPC item to IEC 61850 object is realized, OPC application program interface is provided complying with OPC specification. This proposed method is successfully applied to the development of the power quality data gateway for the Zhe-gan electric railway power quality monitoring system.
