Progress in Active Splitting of Large-scale Power Systems
Power system splitting (also called as system islanding) is to split the interconnected power grid into several islands when the system is subject to severe disturbances and system integrity can not be hold, so that the continuity of power service on islands can be sustained. Different from the traditional out-of-step splitting control that is based on numerous off-line simulations, active splitting control (also Controlled Islanding) is an online scheme. Currently, ASC is solved through a “Searching & Verifying scheme, and many progresses have been made in splitting feasibility study, splitting section determination, etc.
