Electrical Parameters Measurement of Quartz Crystal in the π Network
The principle and its circuit implementation of quartz crystal parameters measurement are presented. The principle is based on the Communiqué of IEC 444 that gives the measuring method of electrical parameters of quartz crystal in a π network. There are two ways of measurement which are respectively the maximum transmission way and zero phase way. The impact on the measurement accuracy is analyzed theoretically and the hardware compensation methods of decreasing stray reactance are presented. The result of experiment proves that the error of series resonant frequency is less than ±2ppm ranging from 1MHz to 120MHz and the series resonant resistance can meet the design requirement.
