Virtual Test Research for the Vehicle Performance Based on Virtual Reality

The framework of a virtual test experimental environment based on virtual reality for vehicle performance is discussed in detail. Firstly, the requirements of the virtual test environment are discussed. Secondly, based on the demands of the environment, we constructed the framework of the environment and divided the whole framework into three layers: simulation and computation layer; data transportation layer; visual display layer. The function and the content of each layer are proposed and analyzed. Finally, the experimental results are shown, which indicate that the framework can greatly increase the working efficiencies of the new type design of the vehicle and strengthen the realistic and immerse feeling to the users. The scale of the whole system can decrease or increase without great performance changes of the system. The design principles of the framework can be used for other virtual tests easily and successfully.
