Method of Fabric Defects Detection Based on Mathematical Morphology

In this paper, a method based on mathematical morphology was presented to detect fabric defects including hole, warp-lacking and weft-lacking. First, the method identified fabric structural repeat units through the autocorrelation function and FFT. Second, mathematical morphological erosion and dilation method was used to detect the defects information in terms of these repeat units. The experiment on the different kinds of defect samples showed that the accuracy rate of this method reached 97%.
