Study of Ultrasonic in Measure of Thermal Stress of Gapless Rail
The paper introduced one method applied to analyzing lengthways stress of gapless rail by ultrasonic. The ultrasonic transmitting time in the same length of rail changes with the temperature change of rail and it is in direct proportion to thermal stress. The principle can be used to measure lengthwise stress. The characteristic is simple, portable, easy operation and convenient daily maintenance regardless of limitation of time and place.
