Principles of Ranging Based on UWB for Radio Proximity Fuze
In this paper, a novel concept about radio proximity fuze based on UWB (Ultra Wide-Band) is proposed. The ranging device of UWB proximity fuze is a type of short range base band radar. It transmits UWB signal (a very narrow pulse sequence), and in the same way receives echo pulse, then converts originally high frequency echo pulse into low frequency image, from which range information of target is obtained, and this information can be used to detonating fuze. This paper describes in detail the essential ranging principles 0f UWB proximity fuze, analyzes its capabilities of precision ranging and anti-jamming.
