Analysis and measurement of electromagnetic fields radiated by corona discharge
Electromagnetic radiation due to corona discharge would disturb the control and guide system, including the plane and space shuttle and missile. Moreover, electric loss due to corona discharge on HV power line is an important issue. In a word, it is important to study frequency and time characteristics of electromagnetic fields radiated by corona discharge. This paper puts forward the simulation methods to test corona discharge on transmission line. Test system consists of DC HV source, digital oscillograph and test antenna. By means of wavelet and time-frequency methods, we analyzed the test data and achieve some characteristics of EM fields radiated by corona discharge. This study also helps us understand corona frequency spectrum due to transmission lines.
