SAR Image Compression Based on Wavelet Packet
SAR image compression is very important in reducing the costs of data storage and transmission in relatively slow channels. Wavelet packet decomposition is adopted to exploit middle and high frequency components associated with SAR data. The experimental results show that the method using wavelet packet proposed in this paper compares favorably with the conventional SPIHT wavelet compression methods and keep more texture information improving interpretability performance for further SAR image processing.
