Nonuniformity Correction of Infrared Image Sequences Using the Iterative High-order Statistics
This paper presents a nonuniformity correction method based on iterative high-order statistics (IHOS-NUC). Firstly, suppose the irradiance collected by each detection cell is random variable that satisfies uniform distribution in constant range. Subsequently, the mean, variance and four-order cumulant of readout data are computed with iteration operation and applied to nonuniform sensor model, and then, the gain and bias parameters will be estimated. The strength of the method lies in its simplicity, low computational complexity, and its good nonuniformity correction. Finally ,the performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by using both simulated and real sequence scene of infrared imagery.
