Edge detector applied to the investigation of river-regime
The measurement of river-regime in movable bed physical model is very important to flood control and to conveyance. Usually, It is also more difficult to be measured by manual in the physical model, and with big errors. In this paper, image processing is present. Multiple CCD cameras is introduced into computer with digital signal by image gather boards, then river-regime can be obtained by image processing and edge detector. To derive perfect model river morphography, There are a lot of edge detectors, such as Sobel 、Prewitt 、Robert 、Krish 、Gassin and so on, which have different principles and effects. This work compared all edge detectors in different conditions, and showed that, the photo with high contrast is much better to use the Robert edge detector; otherwise, it is suggested to use the Sobel edge-detector.
