Research on High Range Precision Arithmetic of LFMCW Ladar
The linear frequency modulation continuous wave (LFMCW) Laser Radar (Ladar) acquires target range information by frequency spectrum analysis. The LFMCW Ladar has high theoretical range precision. But because it acquires the range information from its power spectrum through digital signal processing which is limited by the data length, its practical system has lower practical range precision approximating to its range resolution. This paper presents an adapted Zoom-FFT (ZFFT) algorithm to increase frequency resolution by thinning the band which encloses the intermediate frequency of target range. Without adding to much operation, it could increase rang precision obviously.
