Method Research in Digital Video Images of Firepower Damage Processing
Accurate and timely processing damage information is the foundation of firepower damage effect assessment. With the development and wide usage of unmanned reconnaissance aerial vehicle (URAV) and various battlefield video sensors, above 90 percents of damage information in the battlefield is video information. To process that information will have a huge calculation amount, but the results request higher accuracy and less time. Therefore, making use of image processing technology to assess fire damage effect is an inevitable tendency of the posterior firepower damage evaluation development. This paper, firstly, introduces and analyzes the content and characteristic of video images information of firepower damage in the battlefield. Then, according to the image processing technology and the characteristic of video images information of the battlefield firepower damage, this paper puts forward the basic steps and correlation methods about images information gathering, images processing and damage calculation. At last, through the test of a real video of firepower damage test, the feasibility and practicability of the method is validated. And an accomplished software design plan is proposed.
