The Research of Three-Dimension Reconstructions Technology Based on Image Sequence in Virtual Scene

The subject of three-dimension reconstructions is in relation to Computer Vision, Computer Reality, Image Processing and Virtual Reality etc. It is a research hotspot these years. The thesis reconstructs the objects three-dimension model based on several image sequence taken by a digital camera, and tries two different ways in this paper. In one thesis, a passive reconstruction method named of structure from motion is investigated. This thesis presents an image sequence based algorithm. Fist, Harris detector is used to detect feature points. After that, the idea of multi-resolution is introduced to match these feature points and build 3D mesh model. The speed of the algorithm presented in this thesis is very fast, but the precision of result is not satisfactory. The algorithm will be improved in future. In another thesis, an active reconstruction method based on calibration is discussed. First, we implemented the camera and source light point calibration, shadow plane estimation, triangulation. After that, the advantages and disadvantages of the algorithm are evaluated.
