The Research of 3D-CT Image Reconstruction Algorithm ased on Projection Pre-procession
This paper presents a novel reconstruction algorithm for high transaxial-resolution cone-beam computed tomography (CT). In this paper, we propose projection pre-procession method that the projection data was filtered twice in high-frequency and low-frequency respectively with wavelet multi-scale decomposition, we call this algorithm frequency-split technique, which is designed to minimize cone-beam artifacts. Observing that cone beam artifacts contain mainly low-frequency components, the reconstructed image is a combination of two independent reconstructions with differently modified reconstruction filters. A high-frequency image is reconstructed with the ray projection data using a high-pass filter leading to a suppression of low-frequency artifacts, while the low-frequency components of the image are reconstructed by using low-pass filter, then add the two reconstructed images to make the high quality reconstructed image. The result of algorithm simulation showed the image quality improved and the system noise reduced apparently.
