A New Method for Infrared Image Enhancement Based on erial Idea
By analyzing the current image enhancement algorithms, we find out a serial idea of image enhancement and propose a new combined enhancement algorithm. In our method, homomorphic filtering and direct contrast enhancement are combined in series. Since homomorphic filtering can enhance the whole contrast of an image and direct contrast enhancement can increase the local contrast of an image, so our method makes full use of the information contained in an image. Experimental results show that, compare with the conventional methods, our method performs well in enhancing the local contrast of an image while maintaining its global appearance.
