Research on the software defined radio receivers of intermediate frequency
The traditional radio receivers rely on the hardware strongly, there are many disadvantages such as the generalization to different communication systems and the adaptability to different communication signals are bad, and the cycle of the function expand and the perfection of their hardware platform is long, the cost is too high. The main idea of software defined radio (SDR) is to realize the various communication functions with software programs, based on the universal hardware platform. Its appearance has offered a new idea and method to design and implement the multi-function wireless communication systems, which can overcome and solve these defects and problems of the traditional hardware radio receivers. The SDR will have wide development prospects. Its reconfigurability and flexibility need sample the signal in radio frequency(RF),but, at present, the device of ADC and signal processing(DSP) can not satisfy the request of ideal software radio. Based on the essential theory research of SDR, a intermediate frequency(IF) architecture of SDR receiver with ployphase filter digital orthogonal transform are brought out and the sample frequency of ADC decrease a half. In order to decrease the speed press of DSP, use field programmable gate array(FPGA) to realize the delay filter and prove that the structure is right and feasible.
