Design and Implementation of Signal Source in SDH Optical Network Tester

This paper takes high-speed SDH optical network signal for example, puts forward the whole design project of signal source in SDH optical network tester, describes the whole composing of the system, particularly introduces the SDH multiplexing module and micro-controller module controlling the signal source. The holistic design scheme of the software is brought forward to satisfy the system requirement. Then the realization methods of each function block in FPGA are described. To solve the problems produced during the process of high-speed circuits design, some methods and skills of the software design are listed. These methods are of extensive application value. And the test result of some experiments shows that these methods are suitable for high-speed signal processing. Finally the verification is carried on with the SignalTap Ⅱlogic analyzer and loop-back function of optical module.
