A P2P Framework for Distributed Measurement System
The recent growth of networks and especially spread of the Internet have boosted the development of distributed measurement systems for a variety of applications. Most distributed measurement systems follow the Client / Server architecture, but such centralized system has some shortcomings such as overweighted server load. In this study, a new P2P framework for distributed measurement system is proposed. This framework provides a new layered P2P model in which each measurement unit is treated as a P2P peer node and can be added into or deleted from the P2P network easily. All these measurement units as peer nodes may be considered as central peer, super peer or general peer according to their importance and role in the system. A central peer and all super peers consist of the core layer. A super peer and some general peers are grouped as another layer. The central peer can provide the management of other peers including new peers incoming and existing peers offline requests, and dispatching of all kinds of tasks. Super peers locate between central peer and general peers, which can have same functions like central peer in its local group. An implementation for this P2P based distributed measurement system is also presented. The experiment results show that the proposed P2P framework for distributed measurement system is very effective.
