An Analysis of the Application of ADC and DAC in TD-SCDMA
TD-SCDMA is one of three major standards for the 3G mobile communication system, which is a vitally important innovation in the mobile communication industry in China and a contribution of China to the development of the 3G mobile communication. One of many key technologies used in TD-SCDMA is the software radio technology including the digital intermediate-frequency technology, in which the high-speed, high-accuracy ADC and DAC play an important role. The number of significant digits, sampling rate and others has an important effect on system design and link indicator distribution. This paper, aiming at part of the key indicator requirements of the empty port in TD-SCDMA (power, dynamic range of output signal, peak-to-average ratio of multicarrier output signal, dynamic range of input signal, reference sensitivity of receiver and anti-jamming of input signal) makes an analysis of the requirements of ADC and DAC for the number of digits in design implementation. The analysis has been demonstrated in the implementation of the proof-of-principle prototype.
