Research on Technology Framework of Digital City
Nowadays Information Technology (IT) had become an important part of our life everyway. And as a result, most cities where we lives in the future might be based on IT, and could be called as digital cities, which were found on digital technology. Aiming at technological difficulties to set up digital city in China, This paper investigated the processes of some advanced countries to carry out their digital cities plans and analyze their technological features of these processes. Following this, a technology framework of digital city was introduced, which was suited to actuality of Chinese cities. The framework was assumed a hiberarchy that consist of three levels such as basic level, services level, and applications level. Basic level included all criterions and network environment what were needed to build a digital city. The core of services level was basic information platform, which was not only key element for setting up a digital city, also the center to support communicating information in a digital city. Applications level provided all kinds of digital function for different user like persons, enterprises, government or organizations. Moreover, these function units of framework were illustrated in detail. In order to make framework effect for constructing digital cities, the paper suggested a set of technologies to build digital cities and used them to carry out a project of constructing digital Xianyang city, Shaanxi province of China, so that the validity and rationality was identified.
