A Fuzzy Inference Approach for Health Self-Diagnosis under Uncertainty
The diagnosis accuracy is a critical issue to the successful implementation of the medical decision support systems. In order to improve the decision accuracy in medical health diagnosis, the problems associated with uncertainty and fuzziness are of great concern in medical decision-making. This paper is mainly concerned with handling fuzzy and uncertain features in health diagnosis. By integrating fuzzy reasoning with confirmation theory, an intelligent approach is investigated, in which a Certainty Factor (CF) is introduced to deal with fuzziness and uncertainty. More detail about the determination of CF is provided by examples. Based on PHP technology, an online implementation provides individual visitors with the ability to perform self-diagnosis under uncertainty.
