The Design of Data Acquisition System Based on 8051 and LabWindows

This paper introduces a method to achieve the communication between PC and MCU through serial port. This system includes a data-sampler based on 8051 MCU and a PC which communicate through RS232 serial port. Users can control the data-sampler through the virtual control panel which is designed by LabWindows. Instruction from PC is sent to MCU, and MCU analyses it to control the A/D chip and the transport of the data. The data which is transported can be processed and displayed by PC. This system is reliable, flexible and opening which can meet the needs of data acquisition, testing and control, environment monitoring and virtual instrument systems.
