Research on the Rolling Force Preset Model Based-on Grey Neural Network
Although there are several kinds of mathematical models used to preset the rolling force at present, there is no one that can determine the material strength from the chemical composition, and be adapted to the uncertainty of the production process of the hot strip mill, such as the deviations of temperature and thickness of slabs etc.. So the grey neural network was applied in determining the setup values of the rolling force in order to improve the preset accuracy. Points for attention in practical application of neural network had been emphatically discussed, such as how to choose the input variables and how to choose and preprocess the training data etc.. Especially, the grey incidence analysis was adopted to determine the input variables of neural network. The results show a significant improvement of the rolling force preset accuracy by grey neural network.
