Research on Fatigue Life Prediction Technique for the Parts of Tracked Vehicles Suspension Based on Virtual Prototyping

The fatigue life of the torsion bar and balance elbow of the tracked vehicle is predicted based on Virtual Prototyping in this paper. First, the multi-rigid-body dynamics model of tracked vehicle is established by tracked vehicle special toolkit-ATV in ADAMS software. The flexible body models of the torsion bar and balance elbow are established. By importing the flexible body to the multi-rigid-body dynamics model, the rigid-flexible coupling model of the full tracked vehicle including simulation road, flexible bodies and rigid bodies is established. The emulational task section is established according to the real using condition of the tracked vehicle, and then, the danger position of the torsion bar and balance elbow is found by testing and analyzing. The stress spectrum of torsion bar and balance elbow are virtually tested; which is the load spectrum for fatigue reliability analyzing. At last, Using the virtual stress spectrum, by the software FE-Fatigue, and considering the correction coefficients of fatigue intensity, the fatigue life of torsion bar and balance elbow is predicted.
