Dynamic Testing Eddy Current Electromagnetic Forces of a High Speed Test Stand
In recent years, the speed of trains running is continuously increased. But braking forces of traditional modes will decrease while the velocity of trains running is rising. It is a bottle-neck problem to limit the progress of high speed train. Because of the practicability of eddy current brake technology, electromagnetic eddy current brake is adopted. It is very urgent and useful to obtain the relationship of eddy current braking force and trains running speed. Therefore dynamic testing eddy current electromagnetic forces of a high speed test stand is presented in this paper in order to research the eddy current electromagnetic force that varies with the relative speed, including brake force and attraction. After analyzing the direction and range which electromagnetic force probably possesses, the two-stage mechanism measuring forces is designed. Finally, the dynamic testing experiments have been done. The measure of the braking force is validated. The relation between the braking force and the speed is given.
