Study on Active Magnetic Bearing Control System Based on DSP

Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) is a novel type of high performance bearing which can support the rotor in a contact-free manner. Compared with other bearings, it has many advantages such as no mechanical contact, lower power loss, no friction and longer lifetime. It is widely applied in aerospace, communication, mechanical industry, robot and medical equipment. The AMB control system platform based on DSP TMS320LF2812 is put forward in this paper. The hardware system includes quadruplex data sampler based on built-in A/D module, DAC7725 based D/A converter, power supply converter and time-delay circuit. In order to keep hardware system running normally, CPLD based logic coding circuit is used to improve the system security and reduce the cost. The software system runs in master-slave manner. Thus, an integral AMB experimental system is designed and implemented, the experiment results indicate that the DSP based controller can be debugged easily and works steadily with lower noise and better performance..
